Overview
Nixon Plumbing and Heating were initially contacted by a regular customer to investigate issues with a Firebird oil boiler. After a full diagnosis of the boiler, it was decided that it was best to source a replacement as it required several new parts. As the customer was fairly familiar with an air source heat pump system they decided this would be the best route to go down, especially if they would qualify for the OFGEM BUS grant. As the property was built within the last 20 years and had all the correct insulation measures we agreed that this would be a great alternative to an oil boiler and the installation price would be more or less the same with the £5000 deduction.
Installation
The installation process started with a site survey and assessment of the property’s requirements and also a full heat loss calculation to size up the heat pump. Once everything was run through with the client we then went onto the book in the installation.
After removing the old oil combi system we went about installing the new Worcester Bosch ASHP, AWE indoor unit, 120L buffer tank and green storage cylinder.
The installation process took four days to complete, during which time Nixon Plumbing and Heating team worked efficiently to ensure the seamless and timely completion of the installation.
The new heating system has provided our client with a number of benefits, including a significant reduction in the carbon footprint, and has reduced their dependence on fossil fuels, making it more environmentally friendly. The heat pump is also very efficient and has an energy efficiency class rating of A++
