Samsung Air Source Heat Pump Installation In Llanrhydd

Introduction

The Nixon team recently installed a Samsung 8kW Air Source Heat Pump in Llanrhydd, a quaint village nestled one and a half miles southwest of Ruthin in Denbighshire, North Wales. This project would upgrade the property from a traditional, inefficient heating method to a modern, eco-friendly solution, reducing carbon emissions while enhancing comfort and cost-effectiveness.

Methodology

We selected a Samsung Air Source Heat Pump for its proven energy-efficient performance and ability to provide heating and hot water up to 65ºC. We also like its whisper-quiet operation, emitting less than 45dB, ensuring peace for the residents.

The planned installation involved positioning the air source heat pump in the optimal location outside the property and integrating it seamlessly into the new heating system. To optimise heat distribution, we installed a combination of standard high-output radiators and space-efficient vertical radiators throughout the premises. Furthermore, a Kodiak by Joules hot water cylinder, specifically designed for heat pump systems, was added to ensure a reliable and efficient hot water supply.

Installation

The Nixon team installed the air source heat pump and plumbed it into the property. Seven radiators, along with associated pipework, were carefully installed and positioned to maximise heating efficiency for the space. The installation process concluded with a comprehensive test to guarantee optimal functionality and performance.

Funding

Because the property had previously used electric storage heaters, the owner benefited from the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), a government-funded initiative aimed at encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly heating solutions. Through the BUS scheme, the customer received £7,500 of financial support, significantly helping with the upfront costs associated with the installation of the air source heat pump.

Outcome

The successful installation of the Samsung 8kW Air Source Heat Pump transformed the property in Llanrhydd. Not only did it ditch the old inefficient electric storage heaters, but it also ushered in a new era of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. The installation of the heat pump, coupled with the optimised heating system, has resulted in excellent comfort and reduced energy consumption for the occupants.

In conclusion, the installation of the Samsung Air Source Heat Pump in Llanrhydd stands as an excellent example of the benefits of adopting sustainable heating solutions. By harnessing the latent heat of ambient air and leveraging government incentives, we have not only reduced carbon emissions but also paved the way for a greener, more sustainable future.
