Introduction
We recently completed a comprehensive plumbing refit in Llangollen, a picturesque town on the River Dee in Denbighshire. The homeowner wanted to upgrade their outdated Firegem Visa Gas fire and immersion heater to a modern heating system.
Methodology
Our project began with a thorough evaluation of the homeowner’s requirements and the existing heating system. After assessing the property, we recommended installing an Ideal Heating Logic Combination Boiler. This boiler is known for its reliability, advanced technology, and excellent value for money. Its sleek, compact design makes it ideal for installation in the existing airing cupboard, ensuring the boiler is hidden away but can be easily accessed for maintenance.
The next steps involved careful planning to ensure a smooth transition from the old system to the new one, minimising disruption to the household. We outlined a comprehensive plan that included removing the existing gas fire and immersion heater, installing the new boiler, and fitting new radiators and pipework throughout the property.
Installation
The installation process started with the careful removal of the old Firegem Visa Gas fire and the sealing off of the old gas pipe. Then, the immersion heater was also removed. We proceeded to install the new Ideal Heating Logic Combination Boiler in the airing cupboard, an optimal location for concealment and accessibility. The flue was routed up into the loft and exited through the roof, adhering to safety and efficiency standards.
A new 22mm gas pipe was routed through the property to the new boiler alongside a drainage and condensate pipe leading off from the boiler. We installed new radiators throughout the property, complete with the necessary pipework, all routed back to the new boiler. Once the boiler was connected to the electric and gas supply, our team carried out a comprehensive test to ensure everything functioned correctly. The final step involved signing off and registering the boiler’s warranty to protect the homeowner’s investment.
Outcome
The plumbing refit was successfully completed, resulting in a more efficient heating system tailored to the homeowner’s needs. The new radiators and pipework significantly improved the property’s heating efficiency, providing a much cosier environment. The homeowner expressed great satisfaction with the results, particularly the reduced running costs and the discreet design of the new system. The installation of the Ideal Heating Logic Combination Boiler not only upgraded the home’s heating infrastructure but also added value to the property.
