Introduction
The following case study focuses on the implementation of a Klover biomass system and the renovation of a bathroom and downstairs toilet in a rural property in Prion, Denbighshire. The project aimed to improve the property’s heating efficiency and modernize the bathroom, providing a comfortable and eco-friendly living environment for the family.
The property owners reside in a rural area with limited access to conventional energy sources. Concerned about rising energy costs and their environmental impact, they decided to explore alternative heating solutions and upgrade their outdated bathroom and downstairs toilet.
Project Objectives
Install a Klover biomass system for heating and hot water production.
Renovate the existing bathroom to enhance functionality and create a modern look.
Install a new downstairs toilet to improve convenience and accessibility.
Achieve energy efficiency and environmental sustainability goals.
Planning and Design
The project began with a thorough assessment of the property’s heating requirements and existing infrastructure to determine the suitability of a biomass system.
The bathroom renovation plan involved reconfiguring the layout, replacing fixtures, updating plumbing and improving insulation.
The design for the downstairs toilet considered accessibility requirements, space optimization, and adherence to building codes.
Installation Process
Klover Biomass System: The installation team conducted a site survey and identified an appropriate location for the biomass boiler. The necessary adjustments were made to the property’s heating and hot water distribution system to accommodate the new biomass system. The Klover biomass system was installed, connected to the existing plumbing and heating infrastructure, and thoroughly tested for functionality.
Bathroom Renovation: The existing bathroom fixtures, including the bathtub, sink, and toilet, were removed. New fixtures, such as a walk-in shower, contemporary sink, bath, and toilet were installed. The walls were re-tiled, and appropriate ventilation was implemented.
Downstairs Toilet Installation: The location for the new downstairs toilet was determined, considering convenience and accessibility factors. Plumbing connections were extended from the existing system to the new toilet location. The new toilet, including fixtures and fittings, was installed, and connected to the plumbing system.
Results and Benefits
Klover Biomass System: The property now has a reliable and eco-friendly heating solution that reduces reliance on conventional fossil fuels. The biomass system provides efficient heating and ample hot water supply for the entire property.
Bathroom Renovation: The renovated bathroom offers enhanced functionality and a modern design.
Downstairs Toilet Installation: The addition of a new downstairs toilet increases convenience and accessibility for the family
