Overview
Nixon Plumbing and Heating were contracted by a private customer in a rural location near Wrexham to install a renewable heating source instead of an old back boiler system they currently have. As the property was a stone cottage built in the 18th century we advised the client it would not be suitable for an air source heat pump so their other alternative was a biomass system. After going through biomass with the client they were more than happy to go ahead with the installation. They also qualified for the boiler upgrade scheme as they lived in a rural location and had no mains energy supply to the property.
Installation
The installation process started with a site survey and assessment of the property’s heating requirements. Our team of experts at Nixon Plumbing and Heating designed a system to meet the customer’s specific needs. The installation of a biomass pellet boiler, stainless steel flue, pressurised twin coil solar cylinder with 2 immersions and 8 radiators / TRVs was completed within 1 week.
The Klover pellet boiler has an output of 18.2kw to water and an efficiency of 92.3% which provides the property with all its heating and hot water requirements. This energy-efficient system is low maintenance and has significantly reduced the customer’s energy bills. We have also fitted an extra immersion to power the cylinder in the event the boiler ever requires maintenance.
Outcome
After getting used to how the new system worked the customer was extremely satisfied with the work completed by Nixon Plumbing and Heating. After having major doubts about how much their heating could be improved due to the age of the house the client was extremely satisfied and surprised at how well the system worked and to have their energy bills significantly decreased was an added bonus.
In conclusion, Nixon Plumbing and Heating provided a high-quality, cost-effective renewable energy solution.
The installation of the biomass pellet boiler, stainless steel flue, solar cylinder and radiators was completed within 5 working days and the customer was extremely happy with the outcome.
