Introduction
The project involved the replacement of an inefficient electric boiler in a property located in Ruthin, Denbighshire. The homeowner sought a more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly heating solution, selecting a Klover Thermoarua Pellet Boiler paired with a 150l Telford Slimline Cylinder. This upgrade aimed to enhance heating efficiency, provide cleaner combustion, and offer convenient control options.
Methodology
The plan focused on removing the existing stove and replacing it with a Klover Thermoarua Pellet Boiler. The installation also included a 150l Telford Cylinder to ensure an ample hot water supply for the property. The log burner removal was followed by installing a large slate hearth for a polished and modern aesthetic.
The Klover Thermoarua, chosen for its exceptional 95.9% efficiency, featured a Matt Black finish. Incorporating the patented Klover crucible improves the flame’s appearance and facilitates an effective self-cleaning system. Notably, the quartz igniter reduced lighting times, and the K sensor provided real-time control of the flame. The entire system was configured by our team to be seamlessly managed through Wi-Fi connectivity, offering the client unprecedented control and convenience.
To optimise space and maintain a tidy appearance, the Telford Tempest cylinder, Telford’s flagship product, was installed in a designated cupboard. Crafted from high-grade stainless steel, the cylinder boasted up to 40% greater thickness compared to similar products, ensuring durability and longevity. The strategic placement of the cylinder in the cupboard allowed for easy access for maintenance while keeping the overall appearance of the installation neat and unobtrusive.
Installation
The installation process began with the removal of the outdated burner, making way for the sleek Klover Thermoarua Pellet Boiler. The integration of the new system involved careful attention to detail, ensuring that the slate hearth and the supporting infrastructure complemented the modern design of the Pellet Boiler. The Telford Tempest Slimline cylinder was installed in a cupboard, strategically placed for accessibility in the tight space.
Financial Support
By opting for the replacement of the existing electric boiler with a biomass solution, the homeowner became eligible for Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) funding, securing a substantial £5k grant towards the installation of the Klover Boiler. This financial support through the BUS scheme significantly enhanced the affordability of the project, making the transition to a more sustainable and efficient heating system not only environmentally conscious but also economically advantageous for the homeowner.
Outcome
Replacing the small stove and electric boiler with the Klover Thermoarua Pellet Boiler and the 150l Telford Cylinder yielded excellent results. The Pellet Boiler’s impressive efficiency, clean combustion, and advanced control features significantly improved the property’s heating capabilities. The Telford Cylinder, renowned for its robust construction, contributed to the reliability of the domestic hot water supply. The overall outcome enhanced the property’s energy efficiency and elevated its aesthetic appeal, reflecting a successful integration of cutting-edge heating technology.
